The Best Video Baby Monitor!

Our very first monitor was a Summer Infant brand and we’ve loved it over the last almost two years. It’s dependable and does the job, however, it was a registry gift in advance of our first child so we had nothing to compare it to. What did we know about monitors anyway?

Low and behold the supped-up, tricked-out, bells & whistles Summer Infant Baby Touch WiFi Video Monitor! It’s the Escalade of baby monitors, and for good reason!

Before I even get into all the different features this monitor has, its first glorious selling feature is that everything was really easy to setup, install, and understand. It’s also 100% similar to other Summer Infant brand monitors, which is nice when you’re already used to one brand, and a major bonus when you are also lacking sleep! Instructions are clear and concise, and there’s minimal effort from taking it out of the box, to having it up on your wall.

Looking at the monitor itself, I loved that you have the option of either plugging the handheld monitorin or plugging in the base stand for charging purposes. Again, aesthetically speaking, this monitor is a big step up from our bare bones previous model (which is still a fabulous monitor), and the stand provides function and fashion. When the monitor is on the base, it makes viewing easy and because you can just plug the base in itself, the monitor is easily transferable.

Another BIG plus to the Baby Touch Wifi is that the monitor charges very quickly out of the box. When I plugged it in for the first time, it charged to 100% very fast and was ready for use in no time. Helpful feature yet again when you procrastinate taking it out of the box and setting it up until about an hour prior to bed time!

The screen on the monitor is HUGE and the picture is very clear, which makes life easy not having to try and decipher whether you are currently viewing your baby or her large, stuffed, shark in the crib. In addition, it is a touch screen which allows you to access all the extra features that make this monitor truly stand out amongst the rest. There is a temperature setting, which is very helpful in making sure your baby is at a comfortable climate, split screen function, camera menu, motion tracking, brightness control, zoom, and the talk/back feature (for use in soothing or threatening, whichever point you are at in a given night!).

The best feature by far on the Baby Touch Wifi, in my opinion, is that you can adjust the position of the camera from the handheld monitor, in all directions! This really should be something that all monitors have because no matter how many times you set your camera up, check your monitor, and adjust multiple times, your precious little munchkin will inevitably find a way to cram themselves into the one corner of the crib that you can’t see! It’s so simple to adjust the angle from the handheld monitor – you just activate that function on the touch screen and move the camera in whichever direction you need to. Again, very user friendly and a must-have for anyone in the market for a monitor!

Finally let’s touch on the Wifi option of this monitor which, again, sets it apart from the rest. When you plug the camera in there is an option to turn the Wifi lights on, which will activate the camera for use with the App. The green lights will indicate your connectivity and the white lights indicate when someone is viewing the camera from the app. Once a connection is secured, and you have downloaded the App, you can use your smart phone or tablet to access your camera and make sure your munchkin is in bed and sleeping! Again, a key feature that any parent who has tested the signal strength of their current monitor will understand. You don’t have to pray anymore that your monitor signal will stretch far enough for you to still be able to socialize with your friends while on vacation, instead of sitting outside your room or in the hotel lobby!

Overall I think that the Baby Touch Wifi Video Monitor is a worthwhile purchase for the large screen, clear picture, ease of setup and general use, handheld camera adjustment, and overall attractiveness of the product itself. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends currently with kids, and especially to those who are expecting or planning on having little ones.
