Unique Gift Ideas For Christmas

Unique Gift Ideas For Christmas

November 26, 2015

It is THE big shopping week in my family – for years my sister in law has gone south to shop till she drops with the crowds in the US and now I too have been swept up in Black Friday’s chaos of deals. Let’s face it, I know you busy mamas have been checking websites and actually reading retail spam emails you would otherwise skip over. Everyone wants to be in the KNOW and will be struck with bad FOMO on a great deal for yourself OR someone on your shopping list this coming weekend!

Instead of hitting the shops and waiting in lines, I am here to share a few unique gift ideas on my shopping list this year that you can buy from the comfort of your computer… think Friday night with a glass of wine and the iPad!

UnicefUnicef – Gifts that make an impact or give back in some way are at the top of my list this year and Unicef Survival gifts help children which has meaning to so many people in my life. Anyone would appreciate these special gift but how fitting to think about gifting one for the teachers, caregivers, nannies, babysitters, midwives, nurses, or doctors on your list this year. Gifts range from $10 for a Measles Prevention Kit (22 vaccines), to $33 for Equipping a Child with Educational Supplies right up to a Water Pump for $475 or a School in a Box for $250. Right now when you choose a featured survival gift you receive a Unicef 360 virtual reality viewer. Unicef.ca/360 or survivalgifts.ca to purchase or learn more.

Maplelea GirlsMaplelea Dolls & Accessories – Canadian made with such beautiful quality and attention to detail these dolls are a truly special gift. From the accessories and clothes right down to the personal story that comes with each doll! I was recently introduced to Charlsea (that is her and I in the photo!) She is a West Coast girl who grew up on Salt Spring Island and so did I – she has a very organic natural look to her outfits and she loves to Kayak in her gumboots. You and your little one will fall in love with them like did because there is something so special about these dolls! For girls 4-8 years old on your list this year a Maplelea Doll is sure to impress… this is the kind of doll they will play with every day and then keep and share with their daughters. Check out the adorable Canadian gear outfit!

Tiny Devotions – In a nut shell they are an amazing Canadian company with beautiful bracelets, necklaces, scarves and socks but really they are so much more than this. Tiny Devotions creates mala beads and intentional accessories for free spirits, doers and manifesters. My hubby surprised me with a the Hol:Fit Mala as a back to work gift – it has beautiful black onyx that brings strength and is grounding.

Drink in a Box – Stocking Stuffer Alert! This handy little to go cup can be found at Staples or Bed Bath & Beyond. Visit drinkinthebox.com to find your local retailer. The beauty of this reusable juice box is that it is easy to clean, dishwasher safe, doesn’t leak and can help you customize healthier juice options. Try adding orange slices, watermelon chunks or even blueberries and raspberries. Easy to open by themselves and comes in fun colors means kids LOVE them.

Well.ca Sure to have some great Black Friday deals well.ca is quickly becoming my number one online shopping site. I can get household products, healthy snacks and even high quality toys all for an affordable price and all in one place. Their Holiday Gift Shop makes it simple and fast to find the perfect present for anyone on your list!

Staples – If you are like me you hadn’t thought of this office supplies store as a place for picking up great Christmas gifts. Dog lover? Star Wars fan? Music lover? Tech geek? No matter who you’re buying for, there is something for everyone here. Don’t forget you can order your photo calendars and Christmas cards here too.
