03/02/2017

Are you looking for some fun activities to do with your child in Toronto this March Break?  Here are 5 of my favourite Kid Friendly March Break Activities in Toronto in 2017.

Wizard World Logo 20171.  Wizard World

Ban boredom this March Break and have fun at the Wizard World Family Fun Park running from March 12-19, 2017 in the Better Living Centre at Exhibition Place.  Your all-inclusive ticket ($26.50 per person, or $8.95 per adult if they don’t plan on using the rides, free for kids under 2) includes daily live shows, over 25 carnival rides, exotic reptiles, games, and magic shows. This year’s entertainment includes daily shows from Team T&J, a dynamic duo of singers and dancers guaranteed to have kids of all ages on their feet. You can also check out Reptilia Reptile Zoo, illusionist Wizard-Ry and the world famous Doo Doo the Clown. Wizard World has something to thrill and delight the whole family!

2.  digiPlaySpace

digiPlaySpace is Toronto’s interactive exhibition, giving kids (and their parents) the chance to play and interact with robotics, light installations, video games, virtual reality, coding machines and other up-and-coming technology. The exhibition runs from Feb 18 – April 23, 2017 at the beautiful TIFF Bell Lightbox. Highlights this year include a robotic arm that mimics the movement of those who interact with it and an installation of 28 iPads that allows viewers to touch and move comets, solar systems, planets, and moons in a mini universe. The popular green screen returns with Canada on (Green) Screen, inviting audiences to travel across the country using HD footage from Parks Canada, in celebration of Canada 150. This is the world of digiPlaySpace, where interactive art, design, and activities highlight the power of creative technology for kids and those young at heart.

3.  Feathers of Fire

Take your shadow puppet skills to a whole new level with Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic. The most elaborate shadow puppet play ever performed is coming to Toronto March 10 – 12 following sold out shows in San Francisco, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Los Angeles. Feathers of Fire is a critically-acclaimed production based on the 10th-century Persian Book of Kings. Featuring more than 160 shadow puppets, performers wear handmade masks and costumes behind digitally animated backgrounds — all projected on a cinema-size screen to create the feeling of live animation. The show takes place at George Weston Recital Hall, located at 5040 Yonge Street. 4.  The AGO

The AGO (Art Gallery Of Ontario) engineers imagination this March Break with nine fun-filled days special programming, all free with the price of admission! Families can explore a life-sized cardboard maze located in the heart of the gallery or create a miniature museum in a box. If that’s not enough, March Break programming also features family yoga, an imagination playground that can be transformed with big blocks, the chance to build a cardboard city solely using tape and creativity, family-friendly tours and more. 5.  ComiCon

My mini comic book fan adores Toronto ComiCon. He gets to meet all of his idols, and it makes for some amazing people watching. Click here for a coupon for free kids admission with the purchase of an adult ticket (not valid on Saturday).
