Healthy U – 5&1 Experiment

05/06/2013

There’s an exciting new online incentive-based program available to kids 6+! Alberta Health has just launched the Healthy U 5&1 Experiment, and interactive way to encourage your kids to develop healthy routines.
The concept of this new program is pretty simple, but it’s an excellent way for us to all help our children build the healthy skills they’ll need for life. After signing up, kids will manage their very own Healthy U website. The 42 experiments that they’ll need to complete will challenge them to try new things with food, as well as different ways to get active. After each experiment, kids will be given an award. There are 50 awards to collect. They can also earn awards by getting their friends and families involved.
The website also tracks things like “Energy Level” based on the experiments completed in a day, as well as shows you a “Balance meter, to teach the importance of balancing an active lifestyle with healthy eating. Couldn’t we all use a little more balance!?
