Moms Night Out Expo
On May 10^th, Mommy Connections Spruce Grove/Stony Plain hosted it’s first tradeshow style event! The event was sponsored by some of the amazing local businesses that we’re so lucky to have here in Spruce Grove/Stony Plain. There were over 20 door prizes given away, a fashion show presented by Love Your Bump Maternity & Ladies wear, and the wine bar was a definite addition to this night dedicated to all the hardworking mamas in our community! We were also able to collect 2 bins of food bank donations to support those effected by the Stony Plain fire. BIG thank you to everyone who attended! We’ve received so much positive feedback, that we’ll definitely be making this an annual event! If you missed it this year, next year is sure to be bigger & better!
Summer Playground Meets
This July & August, Mommy Connections Spruce Grove/Stony Plain will be meeting at different local playgrounds each week (weather permitting). The schedule has been posted to the Facebook page, and everyone is welcome to attend! If your favorite local playground isn’t on the schedule, please send an e-mail and we can add it to the current schedule! Please bring everything required for your children including snacks, drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, hats, and anything else needed for a day at the park! Hope to see you there!
Mom & Baby Summer 2013
We will be running an 8-week registered Mom & Baby program beginning June 26^th. The program runs 10-11AM, and be held at various locations around Spruce Grove & Stony Plain. Topics/Activities include: Intellidance, a pottery keepsake, Gymnastics, Baby Wearing, Infant Massage, Baby Sign Language, and much more! Each mom will also receive a Swag Bag full of valuable coupons and samples, and a professional photo to remember the program! The 8-week program is $80. As the summer can fill up fast, we’re offering to pro-rate the 8-week program fee if you know that you’ll be away for any of the sessions. New Baby/Program Facilitator
Jennifer Stocking, the Director of Mommy Connections Spruce Grove/Stony Plain is very excited to be welcoming her second son at the beginning of June. As such, we would like to welcome Cassie as the summer program Facilitator! Cassie has 2 children of her own, and will be able to share her experience and knowledge with our Moms while Jennifer is away.

Local Spotlight
This Issue our Local Spotlight is on The Ward School of Dance! This dance studio, located right along hwy 16A in Spruce Grove (beside Scotiabank), offers a wide variety of classes – from beginner to advanced levels. Some of their disciplines include: Tap, ballet, contemporary, pre-school, jazz, hip hop and much more! They offer a variety of Parent & Baby classes as well, with many programs starting up this summer! Wanting to try out a class before signing up? They’re offering FREE demos for 3 of their popular Intellidance classes.
May 30 – Fiesta Family (10:15-11:00) and Intellidance Babies (1:00-2:00)
