Thomas the Train & The Terrific Toddler – Part One
My toddler, like most 2.5 year old boys is Thomas CRAZY! When he received the Thomas & Friends™ Take-n-Play™ Thomas’ Adventure Castle there was no doubt in my mind that he would just love it! Boy was I right! This set comes as part of the Take-n-Play line of Thomas gear, so it’s compactable and easy to store or bring along. The track is designed with two ramps which is perfect since it comes with two train pieces (Thomas and the Troublesome Truck) who can race or chase each other around the track.
One of the biggest highlights with this product for me is the simplistic assembly. Since this age group of children typically lack patience, this is important for me when choosing toys. As soon as my son spots a box he instantly wants to play with the contents – as shown on the packaging!  Luckily, this set from the time we opened it to the time it was assembled and playable was less than 5 minutes. This means no lost pieces, no whining and a happy toddler!

Another highlight was that this set attaches to other Take-n-Play sets. I love when you can find toys that can be used together but not necessarily require you to purchase all products at once. These types of toys make for great gift ideas since you can always add to them on future occasions. It also wasn’t long before he had all of his Thomas characters out to play along with the two that were included!
The set has a rotatable floor in one of the towers which drops a pot of gold down the tower and out the bottom of the ramp. This feature was somewhat lost on my little guy, but the suggested age for this set is 3+ so I think he was maybe just a little too young to grasp racing to the bottom for treasure. He really enjoyed the set despite not really using the gold piece.
All in all the the Thomas & Friends™ Take-n-Play™ Thomas’ Adventure Castle is an ideal gift for any Thomas crazy kid, ages 2-5. With Christmas right around the corner I would bet that these won’t last long!
